Entry Requirements for Alaska

ESTA: All citizens of Schengen Area countries who are flying to the United States must have an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).
As of September 30, 2025, theESTA feehas increased from $21 USD to $40 USD. The $40 fee now applies to all travelers from these regions, whether they are in France, Belgium, Monaco, or the French overseas departments and territories (DOM-TOM). It is valid for 2 years, provided your passport remains valid, and you will be required to present it upon arrival in the United States by air, land, or rail. Applications can only be submitted through the official U.S. government website.

Budget
How much does a trip to Alaska cost? I should warn you—a self-drive tour in Alaska is quite expensive. Since the season is short, rates are very high. For a 15-day trip including a rental car, accommodations, and a few activities at basic 2- or 3-star hotels, expect to pay at least 3,500 euros per person.
The destination has plenty to offer for a luxury vacation. In fact, it is home to numerous luxury lodges specializing in bear watching, big-game fishing, or viewing the Northern Lights. Often tucked away in remote areas, these lodges are accessible only by boat or seaplane.
The currency is the U.S. dollar.
