How can you get the most out of Alaska? What travel packages do we offer?
Terra Alaska offers only custom-designed trips. We do not organize group tours or fixed-date departures. We can meet you upon your arrival in Alaska by air or sea, or from Canada by land. We also offer lovely combined Canada/Alaska trips.
A Self-Drive Tour of Alaska (Rental Car)
This is the best way to explore the state. We’ll work with you to plan your itinerary, and you decide what to include:
- “Total Freedom”: we’ll only book the essentials (car, lodging, and excursions that require advance reservations), and for the rest, you decide how to spend your days—or you can rely on the personalized travel guide we’ll provide 15 days before your departure, filled with suggestions.
- “Semi-custom ”: You plan part of the trip yourself and let us handle only certain parts or regions.
- “We take care of everything”: We organize the entire itinerary. All you’ll have to do is follow the instructions and recommendations in the travel guide.
In any case, you’ll set off with your indispensable guide: the personalized travel guide.
When planning your trip, we’ll ask you about your expectations, your fitness level, and your travel preferences so we can create this personalized guidebook, which will help you, among other things:
- Select the best hikes based on your fitness level
- Guide you to the best routes and points of interest for self-drive tours
- Recommend the best places to eat based on your budget, and help you plan your meals during hiking days or when traveling independently…
- Provide valuable advice if you’re traveling with children
- Provide you with all our “tips” based on our field research—the places we loved, the places to avoid, helpful advice, and more…
A “private” trip featuring train travel, lodge stays, etc.
The goal is to create a trip that’s optimized in terms of transportation and accommodations, without renting a car. You can actually explore a large part of Alaska thanks to the train network, accommodations connected by boat or small plane to major cities, etc.
Any necessary transfers can be easily arranged via shuttle, taxi, or private driver.
The Alaska Tour with a Private Guide
This is a trip where you’ll be fully supported by a local guide, who will take care of your trip from start to finish. The guide will handle both accommodations and the daily itinerary. These trips often focus on long days of hiking in the great outdoors, allowing you to experience the province’s untamed wilderness.
A Ferry Trip
Cruising from village to village along the Inside Passage, the Kenai Peninsula, Kodiak Island, and beyond… stopping for a few hours or a few days in the ports and getting to know Alaska through its maritime routes… It’s all about patience: you have to know how to travel with the flow of the water, spend long hours and days on the formidable and legendary ferries of the Alaska Marine Highway, and not be afraid of the unknown!
